How-to: Travel Through Time

Welcome to intranet help! Every Wednesday on Intranet Watch we will be running through a short tutorial on how to use a specific intranet feature, or answering a question about the intranet in general (today's post is on Thursday because I have been away from school recently and was a bit late getting organised). Today we'll be looking at time travel - specifically, into the future.

Actually, we don't know how to time travel, but on the intranet you can do the next best thing! Which is look at tomorrow's daysheet.

Daysheets give daily notices for every area of school, from co-curricular group meetings to adjusted bell times to due dates to room changes. Though they're available on school noticeboards and in roll call, sometimes it's easy to miss relevant items and important information.

Daysheets are uploaded to the intranet on the day before (usually some time in the late afternoon or early evening). For instance, today's daysheet was uploaded yesterday. Reading the daysheet in advance is a great way to make sure you are prepared for the day to come. You can get to the most recently uploaded daysheet directly from the front page of Intranet Central:

Where do I find the latest daysheet?

Simply click on the link (in this case, DS14oct.pdf, which stands for "Daysheet 14 October") to download the daysheet. And it's as simple as that! Alternatively, you can click on 2010 Term 4 Daysheets to see older daysheets, or you can even view every daysheet that's ever been uploaded.

If there's something that you want to see explained here on intranet help, or if want to submit a question for us to answer, send us an email at watch@jamesruse.nsw.edu.au.
